Excalibur Vehicle Accessories has developed and implemented a quality management system to demonstrate its ability to provide consistently, product that meets customer and applicable regulatory requirements, and to address customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including continual improvement and the prevention of nonconformity.

A common management system will assure a uniform product and process quality at the Excalibur Vehicle Accessories production site.

All processes within Excalibur Vehicle Accessories that impact directly or indirectly on the manufacture of our products or provision of our services are defined by the management system such that compliance with customer requirements is assured.

To accomplish these objectives we have established a management system that conforms to the international standards ISO/TS16949:2002, DIN EN ISO 14001:1996 and OHSAS 18001:1999.

The purpose of this manual is to define the quality system and describe the interaction between the processes of the system, to define authorities and responsibilities of the management personnel involved in the system, and to provide procedural policies for the implementation all processes compromising the quality system.

Process approach

The International Standard ISO/TS 16949:2002 promotes the adoption of a process approach when developing, implementing and improving the effectiveness of a quality management system, to enhance customer satisfaction by meeting customer requirements.

An advantage of the process approach is the ongoing control that it provides over linkages between the individual process within the system of processes, as well as over their combination and interaction.

When used within a quality management system, such an approach emphasizes the importance of

  1. understanding and fulfilling requirements,
  2. the need to consider processes in terms of added value,
  3. obtaining results of process performance and effectiveness, and
  4. continual improvement of processes based on objective measurement.

The Goal for Excalibur Vehicle Accessories is to develop a quality management system that provides for continual improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain.

The reliable provision of high-quality, environmentally harmless products and services in a safe working environment is instrumental in assuring sustained satisfaction of our customers and decides over the success or failure of our efforts.

The measure for the quality of our products and services is the level of compliance with all customer requirements, limited by the price and delivery time that the customer is prepared to accept. The objectives include the continuous improvement of environmental performance in order to meet growing public expectations and protect the life and health of our employees, our company's most valuable asset.

The related functions and responsibilities are clearly set out within our management system.  Such a system only makes sense, however, if it is accepted and lived by all site employees.
A major step towards this goal is the transparent representation of our organization operational structure by means of processes (process orientation).  This was accomplished in a team effort involving all departments and employees and consequently enables employees to identify strongly with the statements of the management system.

Management has committed employees and managers to the guidelines described.  These determine the actions of everyone in their endeavors to achieve lasting improvement in quality, productivity, the environment and health and safety.

The present management system of Excalibur (Pty) Ltd, Roodepoort Westgate  JohannesBurg South Africa was reviewed by Quality Management and approved by Management.
